You’ve likely heard of the B&W Photo Challenge.
The rules are: Seven days. Seven black and white photos of your life. No people. No explanation. Challenge someone new each day.
I’ve been nominated by the wonderful Sophie @ Sophie’s Corner. (Check out her blog – it’s great!) I don’t do much serious photographing, but this looked like fun, so I’m going to do a “lite” version.
Lite version: One day. Seven black and white photos of your life. No people. Explanations are OK. Challenge someone new.
Here they are.
I noticed that most people post pictures showing either what inspires them or what defines important moments in their lives. At first I wanted to do this too, but then I realized that I valued something more than being inspirational or defining important moments.
I want to show realness – that I am just as “me” when I go to the washroom as I am when I write a poem about my feelings. So I took pictures of mundane objects to depict the ordinary moments that make up my life.
These are things that I do not usually treasure, but I think maybe I have learned to treasure them now. They are not special, and they don’t need to be. They are valued as they are.
I think I’ll nominate Cecilia @ Aurora borealis if she wants to do it when after summer is done or when she is less busy. She can also do it through a different platform if she feels like it.
And if anybody else wants to do this, then I tag you too.
